The Association of Branded Goods Manufacturers
Mission Statement

While the concept of branded goods is still relatively new in Russia, the industry has grown rapidly over the last ten years. Today, thousands of branded goods are sold in Russia, including international brands manufactured in Russia, and brands developed for the Russian market by both Russian and international companies. As Russia's consumer goods market continues its dynamic development, the establishment of a Russian Branded Goods Association (RusBrand) is timely. RusBrand will provide a unique forum for heads of these companies to meet and address the fast-developing issues of concern to this important industry.

RusBrand defines itself as a non-commercial partnership of Russian and multinational branded goods producers who are active in the Russian Federation.

RusBrand partnership sees its Mission in the promotion of the "brand" concept in the interest of society, consumers and producers in Russia.

RusBrand sees the following Objectives of its activities:

  1. Be the advocate of brands in the public realm.
  2. Educate both the public and decision-makers on the positive value of brands.
  3. Achieve changes in the legal and regulatory framework that will better protect intellectual property rights of and associated with branded goods.
  4. Develop a climate of mutual respect and constructive collaboration between branded manufacturers and their business partners, including the media, customers, and consumers.
  5. Ultimately, help to create in the Russian Federation an environment of fair and vigorous competition, fostering innovation and guaranteeing maximum value to consumers.
RusBrand will be using the following main Strategies to achieve its objectives:
  • Develop the concept of "brands" in Russia and educate consumers, legislators, regulators and decision-makers on the values and benefits of brands.
  • Be a positive voice and force towards a further development of a transparently and efficiently regulated economy and industry.
  • Represent, and provide the premier forum for, the interests of branded goods manufacturers working in Russia, without regard to whether the company was established with Russian or foreign capital, on issues affecting their ability to operate in a framework of fair and free-market competition.
RusBrand will be implementing these strategies via a number of Committees and working groups created of the RusBrand members and uniting the joint efforts of the key industry players. The Committees will be dealing with specific issues of concern to RusBrand's members and the industry as a whole. They will be involving a range of specialists from the companies-members alongside with the independent experts and opinion leaders in each of the fields. The key RusBrand Committees will be IPR / Brand Protection (successor to the Brand Protection Group), Media, PR and public education. Other committees may be formed in the future as needs and issues arise.

RusBrand will become an important part of the Russian business landscape and will have its strong voice in improvement of the business environment in Russia, contributing this way to the future of this country.
